Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist.

Subcutaneous injection.
The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg subcutaneously once weekly, increasing to 5 mg after 4 weeks, and then in 2.5 mg increments based on treatment response and tolerance, up to a maximum dose of 15 mg subcutaneously once weekly.
Can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, rotating the injection site with each injection.
