    ATP disodium salt is the sodium salt form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), consisting of adenosine and three phosphate groups linked by two high-energy phosphodiester bonds. ATP is often referred to as the “energy currency” of the cell and is involved in nearly all energy-dependent biological processes:

    Energy metabolism: Hydrolysis yields ADP and releases energy in the form of phosphate, driving muscle contraction, substance transport, and biosynthesis; Signal transduction: As an agonist of P2 purinergic receptors, it participates in neurotransmitter release, inflammatory responses, and the regulation of apoptosis;

    Enzymatic reactions: As a phosphate donor for kinases, synthetases, and ligases, it participates in protein phosphorylation, nucleic acid synthesis, and metabolic regulation;

    Coenzyme function: It participates in metabolic processes such as methionine activation, sulfate activation, and carboxylation reactions. In scientific research and industrial applications, disodium ATP is widely used in molecular biology (PCR, in vitro transcription, kinase activity assays), biochemistry (enzyme kinetics studies), bioluminescence assays (ATP content determination), cell culture (energy supplementation), in vitro diagnostics (coagulation function testing), and drug discovery (kinase inhibitor screening). In addition, disodium ATP is used in sports nutrition supplements, fatigue recovery products, and anti-aging functional foods, where it plays an active role as a cellular energy support component.


    Uses:
    Adenosine-5'-triphosphate disodium salt (a metabolite of adenosine) is a multifunctional nucleoside triphosphate that serves as a coenzyme for intracellular energy transfer within cells. It transports chemical energy for cellular metabolism. ATP disodium salt is utilized in the synthesis of ribose-modified deoxyadenosine diphosphate analogs as P2Y1 receptor ligands.

    Disodium adenosine triphosphate, a nucleotide derivative, is involved in the metabolism of fats, proteins, sugars, nucleic acids, and nucleotides within the body. When energy is required for processes such as absorption, secretion, muscle contraction, and biochemical synthesis, ATP breaks down into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and a phosphate group, releasing energy in the process. Disodium adenosine triphosphate can penetrate the blood-brain barrier, enhancing the stability and regenerative capacity of neuronal membrane structures and promoting the regrowth of neural processes. In the body, it can synthesize nucleic acids when combined with pentose under the action of enzymes, and it can synthesize phosphatidylethanolamine and cytidine monophosphate when reacted with phosphocholine under the action of cytidylyltransferase. It is primarily metabolized in the liver, with a small amount excreted through the kidneys.

    ATP disodium salt (ATP-Na2) was administered by gavage to rats for 90 consecutive days at doses of 0 (control), 500, 1000, and 2000 mg kg BW1·d1 (n = 10 per sex/group). Subchronic administration of ATP was well tolerated at all dose levels. Body weights and feed consumption body weight gains were similar between ATP-treated and control rats. Minor differences were seen in hematology and blood chemistry; however, these changes were not dose-related and, therefore, not of biological or toxicological significance. Only one difference was observed in absolute organ weights; females of the high dose had increased kidney and increased relative kidney and liver weights; however, these differences were not seen in males nor appeared to be dose-related[1].
