PDADMAC is available in both liquid and solid forms, with simple and convenient application methods. Different usage approaches can be adopted according to the application scenarios and product forms, with the specific steps as follows:

7.1.1 Usage Method of Liquid Products

          1. Dilution Preparation: Dilute the liquid PDADMAC product with clean water to an appropriate concentration (usually 0.1%–1.0%) according to treatment requirements. Add the product while stirring during dilution to avoid excessively high local concentration that may affect application performance. The water used for dilution shall be clean tap water or deionized water; water containing a large amount of impurities shall be avoided.

          2. Dosing Operation: Add the diluted PDADMAC aqueous solution to the treatment system (such as wastewater treatment tanks, pulp tanks, drilling fluid tanks, etc.) via a metering pump or manually. The dosage shall be determined based on experiments (generally 10–50 mg/L, i.e., 10–50 g of product per cubic meter of water). Continuous stirring is required during dosing to ensure thorough mixing of the product with the treated medium.

          3. Reaction Observation: After dosing, observe the reaction effects (such as flocculation effect, sludge dewatering effect, pulp retention rate, etc.), and adjust the dosage according to the actual effect. If the treatment effect is unsatisfactory, the dosage can be increased appropriately, or it can be used in combination with agents such as PAC and PAM to achieve synergistic improvement.

          4. Note: Liquid products can be added directly (without dilution), but dilution before addition is recommended for easier metering and uniform mixing, as well as to reduce usage costs.

7.1.2 Instructions for Use of Solid Products

          1. Dissolution Preparation: Select a clean dissolution tank (made of plastic, ceramic, or stainless steel; iron containers are prohibited). Add an appropriate amount of clean water (room temperature is acceptable; water temperature should not exceed 60°C to avoid affecting product activity), and stir evenly.

          2. Dissolution procedure: Slowly add the solid PDADMAC product into the dissolution tank while stirring. Maintain the stirring speed at 200–300 r/min, with a dissolution ratio of 1%–5% (i.e., 1–5 kg of product added to 100 kg of clean water). Stir for 10–15 minutes until the product is completely dissolved, forming a uniform and transparent aqueous solution without obvious precipitation.

          3. Dilution and Dosing: According to treatment requirements, dilute the prepared aqueous solution to a concentration of 0.1%–1.0%. Add it to the treatment system via a metering pump or manual dosing. The dosage shall be determined through experiments. Stir continuously after dosing to ensure thorough mixing.

          4. Reaction Observation: After dosing, observe the reaction effect and adjust the dosage according to actual conditions. If the water quality to be treated is complex, it can be used in combination with other agents to improve the treatment effect.

7.1.3 Targeted Usage Recommendations for Different Industries

          • Water treatment industry: When used alone, the dosage is 10–50 mg/L; when used in combination with PAC, the dosing ratio of PDADMAC to PAC is 1:5 to 1:10, which can significantly improve the flocculation effect and reduce chemical dosage.

          • Paper industry: As a retention and drainage aid, the dosage is 0.1%-0.3% of the dry weight of pulp; as a strengthening agent, the dosage is 0.2%-0.5% of the dry weight of pulp, which should be added before pulp forming and mixed thoroughly.

          • Petroleum extraction industry: As a drilling fluid additive, the dosage is 0.1%-0.5% of the total mass of the drilling fluid; as an oil displacement agent, the concentration is 0.5%-1.0%, and it is injected into the reservoir through the injection system.

          • Textile printing and dyeing industry: As a fixing agent, dilute it to a concentration of 5%-10%, soak the textiles for 10-20 minutes after dyeing, and then dry them; as a softener, the dosage is 0.3%-0.8% of the total mass of the finishing liquid.

            • Liquid products: Store in a dry, well-ventilated and cool warehouse, keep away from fire and heat sources, avoid high temperatures (above 80℃) and strong sunlight exposure. The storage temperature should be controlled at 5-30℃; keep sealed to prevent volatilization and contamination, with a shelf life of 12 months.

            • Solid products: Store in a dry, well-ventilated and cool warehouse, protect against moisture, sunlight and rain; keep the package tightly sealed to prevent caking due to moisture absorption. Maintain a distance of 10–20 cm from warehouse walls and floors to facilitate ventilation. Shelf life is 24 months. If caking occurs due to moisture, the product can be crushed and dissolved before use without affecting its effectiveness.

          • Dosage Control: The dosage must be determined based on experiments and shall not be increased blindly. Otherwise, it will lead to higher treatment costs and deteriorated water quality (e.g., turbid water, increased foaming). In case of overdosage, an appropriate amount of clean water may be added for dilution, or a small amount of anionic agent may be added for neutralization.

          • Dissolution Taboos: Do not use hot water for dissolution (water temperature ≤ 60°C). Do not dissolve with strong oxidizers, strong acids, or strong alkalis to avoid chemical reactions that may impair product performance. Solid products should be added slowly during dissolution to prevent caking.

          • Equipment Maintenance: Dosing equipment (metering pumps, mixing devices, dissolving tanks) shall be cleaned and maintained regularly to prevent blockage caused by product residues; liquid product storage barrels must be cleaned promptly after use to avoid residual product solidification and clogging of the bung.

          • Emergency Response: In case of product leakage, immediately isolate the leakage area. For liquid products, absorb them with sand or absorbent cotton, and dispose of them properly after collection; for solid products, cover with dry sand, and reuse the collected products by repackaging or dissolving for use. Do not discard them arbitrarily to avoid environmental pollution.

          • Non-dangerous goods: This product is classified as a non-dangerous good. It is not required to be transported in accordance with dangerous goods transportation standards during transit. However, extrusion, collision, and throwing shall be avoided to prevent packaging damage and product leakage. Transport vehicles shall be kept dry and clean, and mixed transportation with damp materials or strong oxidizing agents is prohibited.

          • Combined Use: When used in combination with agents such as PAC and PAM, each agent shall be dissolved separately first and then added sequentially. Direct mixing and dissolution are prohibited to avoid chemical reactions that may cause the agents to lose effectiveness.
          • VIII. Packaging and Transportation

            8.1 Packaging Specifications

This product is available in both liquid and solid forms, with different packaging specifications to ensure sealing, moisture resistance, and damage prevention, meeting the demands of various purchase quantities. The specific packaging specifications are as follows:

            8.1.1 Packaging of Liquid Products

            • Packaging Material: Food-grade or industrial-grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic drums are used, featuring strong corrosion resistance, good sealing performance, and no peculiar smell, in compliance with relevant standard requirements.

            • Specifications: The standard specifications are 25kg per drum and 50kg per drum; for bulk purchases, customized packaging of 200kg per drum (large drum) or IBC tank (1000kg per drum) is available to meet the demands of large‑scale industrial procurement.

            • Packaging Labeling: Clear product information shall be printed on each drum, including product name, specifications (industrial grade/food grade, solid content, molecular weight), net content, implementation standard, production date, batch number, shelf life, manufacturer, contact information, warning labels (keep dry, protect from sunlight, keep sealed), etc., for easy identification and storage.

            • Sealing Requirements: The drum lid shall adopt a spiral seal and be equipped with a tamper-evident buckle, ensuring a tight seal to prevent product volatilization, leakage and contamination.

            8.1.2 Packaging of Solid Products

            • Packaging Material: Double-layer packaging is adopted. The inner layer is a food-grade polyethylene film bag (thickness ≥ 0.05mm), which is tightly sealed to prevent moisture and leakage of the product. The outer layer is a plastic woven bag (high strength and wear resistance), which can effectively protect the inner packaging and prevent damage during transportation and storage.

            • Specifications: The conventional specifications are 25kg/bag and 50kg/bag; customized ton bag packaging (1000kg/bag) is available for bulk purchases to meet large-scale industrial procurement needs.

            • Packaging Labeling: Clear product information shall be printed on each bag, including product name, specifications (industrial grade/food grade, solid content, molecular weight), net content, implementation standard, production date, batch number, shelf life, manufacturer, contact information, warning labels (keep dry, keep sealed, keep away from fire), etc., for easy identification and storage.

            • Sealing Requirements: The inner film bag shall be sealed by heat sealing, and the outer woven bag shall be stitched with double threads. The sealing shall be tight to prevent moisture absorption, caking and leakage of the product.

            8.2 Transportation Requirements

            • Transportation method: Transport by freight vehicles, with options of road or railway transportation. For bulk transportation, the use of containers or enclosed vans is recommended to avoid rain exposure, direct sunlight, extrusion and collision. Liquid products must be placed upright to prevent leakage.

            • Transportation Precautions:
              • During transportation, extrusion, collision and dropping shall be avoided to prevent packaging damage and product leakage; liquid products shall be firmly fixed during transportation to avoid tipping and rolling.

              • Transport vehicles shall be kept dry and clean, and shall not be transported together with damp materials, strong oxidants, strongly acidic or strongly alkaline chemicals, so as to prevent chemical reactions and deterioration of the products.

              • During transportation, keep away from fire and heat sources, avoid high temperatures and strong sunlight exposure. The transportation temperature for liquid products shall be controlled at 5-35℃ to prevent volatilization or deterioration of the products.

            • Transport Label: Clear labels shall be affixed to transport vehicles, including "Polydiallyldimethylammonium Chloride", "Non-Dangerous Goods", "Keep Dry, Protect from Sunlight, Keep Sealed", etc., to facilitate identification and management during transportation.

            • Delivery Acceptance: After receiving the goods, the customer shall promptly check whether the packaging is intact and whether the product has any issues such as leakage, caking, or turbidity. If any problems are found, the customer shall communicate with the manufacturer in a timely manner for resolution.
