Description

Physiological Functions: 5'-Cytidine is one of the monomers that make up RNA. It consists of the nucleotide base cytosine, the pentose ribose, and a phosphate group. These structures enable it to participate in processes such as DNA and RNA synthesis, modification, and labeling. Composition: 5'-Cytidine (cytidine 5'-monophosphate) is a nucleotide used as a monomer for RNA. Cytidine 5'-monophosphate consists of the nucleotide base cytosine, the pentose ribose, and a phosphate group. Target: Human Endogenous Metabolite. Uses: 5'-Cytidine is a component of nucleic acids and can be isolated from yeast nucleic acids. Uses: Used as a food additive, genetic engineering reagent, and pharmaceutical raw material. Applications: 5'-Cytidine can be used as a raw material, intermediate, and food additive in the production of nucleotide drugs, such as in the synthesis of CTP, PolyIC, Ara-C, DDC, and CDP-choline, and as a mixture with other nucleotides as a health supplement and food additive (e.g., added to infant formula). The production method involves extracting nucleic acids from the cells of Candida proteoglycans in the presence of salt using hot water. The nucleic acids are then hydrolyzed by adding a nucleic acid-degrading enzyme and then separated.
