                                              Boc-Glycine methyl ester is synthesized through the following routes:

                                              • Reaction of glycine methyl ester with Boc₂O: Glycine methyl ester (or glycine methyl ester hydrochloride) is reacted with di-tert-butyl dicarbonate (Boc₂O) in the presence of a base.

                                              • Esterification of Boc-glycine: Boc-glycine is esterified with methanol in the presence of an acid catalyst.

                                              • Purification: The crude product is purified by distillation under reduced pressure.
