It appears as a white solid powder with the molecular formula C₁₆H₁₀Cl₂F₃N₃O₄S and a molecular weight of 468.24 g/mol .
With a purity of ≥98.0% by HPLC, Fluazaindolizine belongs to a new class of non-fumigant nematicides with a distinct chemical structure from existing products. It was first introduced in 2015 and has since been evaluated globally for its efficacy in controlling plant-parasitic nematodes . The compound is classified by the U.S. EPA as an approved pesticide active ingredient , and the WHO/FAO JMPR has established an Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of 0-0.3 mg/kg bw and an Acute Reference Dose (ARfD) of 1.0 mg/kg bw
