    Synthetic Process

    4,4'-Bis(4-aminophenoxy)biphenyl is synthesized through the following routes:

    • Condensation of 4,4'-biphenol with 4-chloronitrobenzene: 4,4'-Biphenol is reacted with 4-chloronitrobenzene to form the dinitro intermediate, which is reduced to the diamine.

    • Reduction of the nitro intermediate: The dinitro compound is reduced using hydrogen and a metal catalyst or chemical reducing agents.

    • Purification: The crude product is purified by recrystallization or column chromatography.
