(+) -δ-tocopherol is an antioxidant. Vitamin E helps prevent the oxidation of Polyunsaturated fatty acid and phospholipids and thus maintains the integrity of cell membranes. May protect the vitamin A from the oxidation destruction, simultaneously strengthens its function, the vitamin E and the iodine compound. It has been shown to prevent the occurrence of symptoms associated with vitamin E deficiency. Some studies have shown an association with cancer prevention and anti-aging, but this has not been widely confirmed. It has a role as a plant metabolite and a food antioxidant. It is a vitamin E and a tocopherol.|Delta-Tocopherol is the orally bioavailable delta form of the naturally-occurring fat-soluble vitamin E, mostly found in soybean and corn oils, with potential antioxidant activity. Although the exact mechanism of action of this tocopherol has yet to be fully identified, delta-tocopherol appears to have the ability to scavenge free radicals, thereby protecting cells against oxidative damage.
