Product Detail

Dehydroacetic acid serves as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It acts as a thickener for resin emulsions such as vinyl acetate emulsions and acrylic-vinyl emulsions, as well as blends containing polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose, starch, bone glue and other components.

Recently, it has found wider applications in adhesives, mosquito coils, feed, shampoo, toothpaste and other fields.

Owing to its inhibitory effect against moulds, yeasts and Gram-negative bacilli, it is used as a mould inhibitor and preservative in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food. According to China’s GB 2760–1996, it is permitted for use in fermented bean curd, mixed pickled vegetables and raw orange juice.
