This unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) is an orthophthalic type resin specifically formulated for marine and fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) applications. It is a liquid thermosetting resin composed of unsaturated polyester dissolved in styrene monomer, designed to cure at room temperature under normal pressure, making it particularly suitable for large-scale and on-site manufacturing of fiberglass products.
The resin exhibits excellent water resistance, good mechanical strength, mild corrosion resistance, and superior processability. It is widely used in the production of fishing boats, yachts, lifeboats, and various FRP marine components.
