    Product Overview

    Poly(deoxyadenylic-thymidylic) acid sodium salt [poly(dA-dT)·Na] is a synthetic alternating copolymer of deoxyadenylic and thymidylic acids with the molecular formula (C₁₀H₁₁N₅O₆P·C₁₀H₁₃N₂O₇P)ₙ·xNa and a molecular weight of approximately 1,000-10,000 Da. This white to off-white fibrous powder is a valuable tool in nucleic acid research, used as a substrate for studying DNA polymerases, nucleases, and other DNA-modifying enzymes. Its defined sequence provides a model system for investigating DNA structure, dynamics, and protein-DNA interactions.

    Synthetic Process

    Poly(dA-dT) is synthesized through the following routes:

    • Enzymatic synthesis: DNA polymerase is used to synthesize the alternating copolymer from dATP and dTTP in a template-independent or template-dependent reaction.

    • Purification: The crude product is purified by precipitation, dialysis, and chromatography.
