ARA290 (also known as Cibinetide) is a peptide composed of 11 amino acids (sequence: Pyr-Glu-Gln-Leu-Glu-Arg-Ala-Leu-Asn-Ser-Ser-OH), which is a derivative peptide. It exerts tissue protection by specifically activating the CD131 heterodimer receptor, but does not induce the hematopoietic side effects.

In animal experiments, ARA290 (70 μg/kg dose) can delay the onset of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and reduce the severity of nerve damage.

Its mechanism of action may be related to regulating neuroinflammation and promoting nerve repair, and because it has no side effects of promoting erythropoiesis, it is suitable for long-term neurological disease research.
