1. Epithalon (also known as Epitalon or Epithalone) is the synthetic version of the polypeptide Epithalamin which is naturally produced in humans. This pineal peptide preparation is secreted in the epithlamium-epiphyseal region of the brain. Its more prominent tasks are: to regulate metabolism in the epiphysis, increase the sensitivity of hypothalamus to its natural hormonal influences, normalize the function of the anterior pituitary, regulate the levels of gonadotropins and melatonin in the body. Epithalamin increases a person's resistance to emotional stress and also acts as an antioxidant.

2. Epitalon, also commonly known as Epithalon peptide or Epithalone is a synthetic tetrapeptide with four amino acids in its structure. The amino acid sequence of Epitalon is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly with a molecular formula C14H22N4O9.

   Epitalon is a derivative of Epithalamin or Epithalamine which is a polypeptide naturally released from the pineal gland. For those of you who haven’t heard about the pineal gland, it is a small pea-shaped gland located deep in the brain. It is also referred to as the “third eye”.

   This synthetic peptide was originally discovered by Russian scientist Vladimir Khavinson. Since then most of the clinical studies centered around Epitalon were carried out in St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.

   Epithalon is a peptide used to regulate the cell cycle through up-regulation of telomerase activity. The sequence of amino acids in the peptide is Alanine-Glutamate-Asparagine-Glycine. Epitalon is a synthetic peptide made of four amino acids (alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine), that is based on a natural peptide called epithalamin extracted from the pineal gland. It was synthesized by Vladimir Khavinson, a Russian professor and gerontologist, whose research focused on the development of peptide preparations used to restore function in various organs in order to prevent and reverse the aging process.
