• PE 22-28 is a synthetic linear heptapeptide derived from the active fragment of Spadin , the shortest sequence that fully retains potent TREK-1 channel inhibitory activity, and its activity is about 300 times higher than the parent peptide Spadin.
  It can specifically block TREK-1 two-pore domain potassium channel in neurons, induce neuronal depolarization, promote the release of serotonin, up-regulate BDNF expression in hippocampus, exert rapid-onset antidepressant, neuroprotective effects. It is widely used in preclinical research on major depressive disorder, stroke post-depression, neurodegenerative diseases, central nervous system neuroprotection and neuronal ion channel mechanism study.
