Mechanism:A naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide (Ac-Ser-Asp-Lys-Pro-Asp-Met-Ala-Glu-Ile-Glu-Lys-Phe-Asp-Lys-Ser-Lys-Leu-Lys-Lys-Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln-Glu-Lys-Asn-Pro-Leu-Pro-Ser-Lys-Glu-Thr-Ile-Glu-Gln-Glu-Lys-Gln-Ala-Gly-Glu-Ser-OH) that binds G-actin (sequesters monomeric actin), preventing F-actin polymerization. Promotes cell migration, angiogenesis, wound healing, and anti-inflammatory responses via integrin-linked kinase (ILK) and HIF-1α/VEGF pathways. TB-500 is the synthetic fragment Ac-LKKTETQ (MW ~895) often sold under this CAS.
Activity note:Thymosin Beta-4 is an actin-binding protein, not a receptor agonist. Functional activity is measured by actin sequestration (Kd ~0.7–1 μM) and cell migration assays, not EC₅₀.
