It has the molecular formula C₂₂H₁₈N₄OS and a molecular weight of 386.47 g/mol . The compound is chemically designated as N-methyl-2-[[3-[(1E)-2-(2-pyridinyl)ethenyl]-1H-indazol-6-yl]sulfanyl]-benzamide . Axitinib is developed for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and has been investigated for several other tumor types
