Dextrorotatory carvone: Mainly derived from star anise and dill seed essential oils. It is also present in trace amounts in wild orange, coriander, oregano, pepper mint and rosemary. It has a strong aromatic smell. Levo carvone: Mainly derived from green mint essential oil. There is also a small amount in wild orange essential oil. It has a fresh mint aroma, but no cooling sensation.
