Product Overview
Flavin mononucleotide (FMN, riboflavin-5′-phosphate) is a coenzyme derived from riboflavin (vitamin B2). It is supplied as a reference standard (HPLC≥87%) for biochemical research.

Synthetic Process
FMN is produced industrially by the phosphorylation of riboflavin using riboflavin kinase, or by chemical phosphorylation.

Mechanism of Action
FMN functions as a prosthetic group for various oxidoreductases (e.g., NADH dehydrogenase, FMN reductase), participating in electron transfer in the respiratory chain and various redox reactions. It is also a cofactor for photolyases and blue-light photoreceptors.
