Product Detail

Colorless or white scaly crystals or crystalline powder, odorless or slightly odorous. Melting point is 270°C (decomposes). Easily soluble in water (67.6 g/100 mL at 20°C), soluble in propylene glycol (5.8 g/100 mL) and ethanol (0.3 g/10 mL). A 1% water solution has a pH of 7–8. Easily absorbs moisture in the air and discolors due to oxidation. Oral LD50 for rats is 4920 mg/kg, oral LD50 for mice is 5860 mg/kg, Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) is 0–25 mg/kg (as sorbic acid, FAO/WHO, 1994).
