Description

Disopyramide phosphate is an organoammonium phosphate. It derives from a disopyramide.|A class I anti-arrhythmic agent (one that interferes directly with the depolarization of the cardiac membrane and thus serves as a membrane-stabilizing agent) with a depressant action on the heart similar to that of guanidine. It also possesses some anticholinergic and local anesthetic properties.

Drug Information

Agents used for the treatment or prevention of cardiac arrhythmias. They may affect the polarization-repolarization phase of the action potential, its excitability or refractoriness, or impulse conduction or membrane responsiveness within cardiac fibers. Anti-arrhythmia agents are often classed into four main groups according to their mechanism of action: sodium channel blockade, beta-adrenergic blockade, repolarization prolongation, or calcium channel blockade. Drug Function and Efficacy

This product belongs to Class Ia antiarrhythmic drugs. Its electrophysiology and hemodynamics are similar to quinidine. It has the effect of inhibiting the influx of fast sodium ions, prolonging the action potential and effective refractory period, reducing the conduction velocity of the atrium and the accessory bundle, reducing the autonomy of the myocardial conduction fibers, inhibiting the excitability of the atrium and ventricular muscles, and reducing the myocardial contractility. In addition, it has a more obvious anticholinergic effect, so it may accelerate the frequency of the sinus node and the conduction velocity of the atrioventricular junction, but the condition of patients with existing sick sinus syndrome or atrioventricular conduction disorders may still be aggravated. Animal studies have not confirmed teratogenicity.
