Description
A strong organic base existing primarily as guanidium ions at physiological pH. It is found in the urine as a normal product of protein metabolism. It is also used in laboratory research as a protein denaturant. (From Martindale, the Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed and Merck Index, 12th ed) It is also used in the treatment of myasthenia and as a fluorescent probe in HPLC.

Guanidinium phosphate Use and Manufacturing
The guanidine hydrochloride is made into an alcohol solution, sodium alkoxide is added for neutralization, and the free guanidine is reacted with phosphoric acid to obtain guanidine phosphate.
This product is used as a flame retardant for wood, fiber, paper, etc. It has good flame retardant effect, low hygroscopicity, and has the characteristics of preventing iron corrosion. It is also used as a rust inhibitor.
