Lanthanum trifluoride Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Chemically dissolve lanthanum oxide in hydrochloric acid and dilute to 100-150 g/L (calculated as La2O3), heat the solution to 70-80°C, and then precipitate with 48% hydrofluoric acid. The precipitate is washed, filtered, dried, crushed, and vacuum dehydrated to obtain lanthanum fluoride.

Uses

Widely used in the preparation and research of fluorinated glass.
