Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.

In case of fire in the surroundings, use appropriate extinguishing media.

Personal protection: particulate filter respirator adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers. If appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations.

Separated from strong oxidants. Keep in a well-ventilated room.

A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed.

The substance is irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract.

Use local exhaust or breathing protection.

Protective gloves.

Wear safety goggles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.

Drug Information

Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.

Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.

First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.

The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

Cough. Sore throat.

Redness. Pain.

Tin dichloride dihydrate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Add 550 kg tin flower and 1 200 kg concentrated hydrochloric acid to the reaction pot in turn, and heat it up. After the reaction for a period of time, when the concentration of the solution reaches about 40°Bé, use a vacuum to draw it into a high-level tank and put it into an enamel evaporator for concentration. Add a certain amount of tin flower to the evaporator to make it continue to react with acid. When the concentration reaches 73~75°Bé, filter while hot, cool, crystallize, centrifuge, dry and crush to get the finished product. The reaction formula is:

Uses

Powerful reducing agent, particularly in manufacture of dyes and 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals; in tinning by galvanic methods; in liquor finishing of wire; in sensitizing of glass and plastics before metallizing; as soldering flux; as mordant in dyeing with cochineal; in manufacture of tin chemicals, color pigments, pharmaceuticals, sensitized paper, lubricating oil additives; as tanning agent; in removing ink stains; in yeast revivers; as reagent in analytical chemistry; as catalyst in organic reactions.
