To a methanol (70 mL) and chloroform (70 mL) solution of 2-[3, 5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethynyltrimethylsilane (83.1 g, 267.7 mmol), potassium carbonate (7.4 g, 53.5 mmol) was added, followed by stirring at room temperature overnight.
