Methods of Manufacturing

50 g of the compound (S)-N-benzyloxycarbonyl-N'-tert-butoxycarbonyl-2, 3-diaminopropionic acid was dissolved in 500 mL of dichloromethane, and 50 mL of trifluoroacetic acid was added thereto, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight.
