L-Pyroglutamamide Use and Manufacturing
General procedure: Stirred L-pyroglutamic acid methyl ester (10 mmol) in NH3 [aq]/N2H4 [aq] (50 mL) for 12 h at room temperature. Then the mixture was allowed to stand for one day at −10 °C. Next the crystallization washed with ethanol, ether, dried over MgSO4, The crude mixture was purified by flash column chromatography on silica (MeOH/CH2Cl2=1/6) to provide pure product as white solid.
