Used as acid-base indicator, PH value 3.8 (orange) ~ 6.5 (dark purple). It is used as a reduction indicator in food research to test reductase, to detect hyposulfite and to check bacteria in milk. Biological staining tests such as cell proliferation and quantitative detection of toxicity.
