The preparation of statin usually uses low-temperature extraction, mainly: homogenize the spleen or thymus or its acetone powder with water or physiological saline, extract and filter, take the clear liquid, add ethanol to remove the protein, and freeze-dry the ethanol. . The thymus acetone powder is extracted with 0.5% NaCl solution under acidic conditions, the pH of the extract is adjusted, the impurity protein is removed by heating, filtered, and the clear liquid is adjusted to neutrality and lyophilized. The thymus is homogenized in water or pH8.5(NH4)2CO3 solution, extracted and ethanol is added to remove the impurity protein, and the supernatant is obtained by precipitation with acetone.
The biological activity of inhibin is shown as the inhibitory effect on mitosis of cells, which is tissue-specific but not species-specific and cytotoxic.
