Diethyl 2,3-dichlorobutanedioate Use and Manufacturing
The preparation method is to add diethyl maleate and dichloroethane into the reaction kettle, and pass in chlorine gas under stirring. After about 5 hours, pass in compressed air to drive off the remaining chlorine gas, and then heat up to 90-100°C. The dichloroethane is distilled out, and the residue in the kettle is the finished product of diethyl 2, 3-dichlorosuccinate.
Diethyl 2,3-dichlorosuccinate is an intermediate of the herbicide imidazoquinoline.
