Brominated with acetophenone with bromine to generate 3-bromoacetophenone, and then condense with phenol under alkaline conditions to obtain 3-acetyl diphenyl ether. The latter is condensed with ethyl chloroacetate with the participation of isopropanol, and the product is obtained by hydrolysis and decarboxylation.
