Drug Information

3-amino-3-phenylpropionic acid

3-(3-Aminophenyl)propionic acid Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained by reduction of m-nitrocinnamic acid. Add sodium hydroxide solution to the reaction tank, stir, and add m-nitrocinnamic acid to dissolve it. Raise the temperature to 90℃, add aluminum-nickel alloy in batches, and keep it at 90-100℃ for 1 hour. After the reaction is completed, the nickel residue is filtered off, and the filtrate is acidified to obtain m-aminophenylpropionic acid. Alternatively, hydrochloric acid can be added to a certain amount to prepare a m-aminophenylpropionic acid hydrochloride solution.

Uses

Used as pharmaceutical intermediates. Used in the production of calcium iodide for diagnosis.
