Generate self-assembled monomolecular membranes containing amino-functionalized sites. 1 This molecule is used to modify the gold surface with amine groups. Amine-reactive materials (such as proteins or biological materials) are commonly used to modify amine groups to further functionalize the gold surface. This material is also self-assembled on a gold electrode, which is used to study the effect of terminal groups on the redox reaction of ferrocene derivatives by voltammetry. 2Tanahashi and colleagues modified the gold surface with several self-assembled monolayers of functionalized alkyl mercaptans.
