A mixture of 6-bromopyridin-3-amine (11.7 g, 67.6 mmol), 1-chloropyrrolidine-2, 5-dione (9.93 g, 74.4 mmol) and acetic acid (70 mL) was stirred at 90 C for 2 h. The solvent was removed on a rotovap and the residue was washed with water and dried to provide 6-bromo-2- chloro-pyridin-3-amine (13.1 g, 93.4%).
