To a stirred solution of 3-bromo-2-chloro-pyridin-4-ylamine (5.00 g, 24.10 mmol) in concentrated HNBS (564 mg, 3.17 mmol) was added to a solution of 1 (500 mg, 2.88 mmol) in 8 mL of AcOH. The resulting mixture was stirred at 60 °C for 4 h. After cooled to room temperature, the mixture was diluted with water. The precipitate was collected by filtration to afford 580 mg of 2 as a yellow solid, which was used in the next step without further purification. [M+Hj : 251.91, 253.96.
