Thereaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 14 h, concentrated under reducedpressure and diluted with water (100 mL). The mixture was basified using saturated NaHCO3, filtered through Celite® and the filtrate was extracted with DCM (2 x 75 ml), The combinedorganic extracts were dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain Intermediate 34B (090 g, 8000percent) as a brown solid. ‘H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) S ppm 2.15 (s, 3 H), 4.83 (hr. s., 2 H), 644 (d, J 264 Hz, I H), 6.61 (d, J:::: 2.27 Hz, I H), 8.06 (br. s., 1 H). LCMS (Method—D): retention time 2.93 mm, [M±2] 204.0.
