2-Amino-4-bromo-6-methylphenol Use and Manufacturing

To a solution of tin (ii) chloride (5.31 g, 28.00 mmol) and conc. HC1 (6.00 mE, 19700 mmol) in MeOH (25 mL) at 0° C was added Intermediate 34A (1.30 g, 5.60 mmol). Thereaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 14 h, concentrated under reducedpressure and diluted with water (100 mL). The mixture was basified using saturated NaHCO3, filtered through Celite® and the filtrate was extracted with DCM (2 x 75 ml), The combinedorganic extracts were dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain Intermediate 34B (090 g, 8000percent) as a brown solid. ‘H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) S ppm 2.15 (s, 3 H), 4.83 (hr. s., 2 H), 644 (d, J 264 Hz, I H), 6.61 (d, J:::: 2.27 Hz, I H), 8.06 (br. s., 1 H). LCMS (Method—D): retention time 2.93 mm, [M±2] 204.0.
