4-Bromo-5-fluoro-2-nitrophenol Use and Manufacturing

To a stirred mixture of 4- luorophenol (10.23 g, 53.56 mmol), dichloromethane (108 mL), and sulfuric acid (6 mL, 107 mmol) at 0 °C was added 65percent nitric acid (3.8 mL, 53.6 mmol). After one hour at 0 °C, the mixture was diluted with water. The resulting mixture was extracted three times with dichloromethane.
