  • Formula:

    CaTe

  • Chemical Name:

    Calcium telluride (CaTe)

  • Synonyms:

    Calcium telluride (CaTe);Calcium telluride;Calcium telluride (Ca0.50Te0.50);Calcium monotelluride

Description

Cub; -20 mesh 99.5% purity [CER91] [CRC10]Calcium telluride has the molecular formula of CaTe and the molecular weight of 167.6782 g/mol. It can be prepared by heating the elements together in an inert atmosphere: Ca+ Te+ heat CaTe
Te melts at 450°C and Ca melts at 842°C. A heating temperature of 750°C is sufficient to cause complete reaction. CaTe powder can also be prepared by reaction of stoichiometric quantities of Ca and Te in a pure graphite crucible in vacuumat 480°C.
