Containing 4-bromo-2-fluoro-5-methyl benzoic acid (500 mg, 2.15 mmol) and DMF (0.05 ml) in methylene chloride with Oxalyl chloride solution (5 ml), and blended in to the It was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate and the combined organic phase was washed with saturated aqueous sodium chloride wash, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated in a rotary evaporator. This produced 825 mg (96% of theoretical value) subject compound, which was used without further purification.
