To R8, purchased from ACTIVATE (200 mg, 0.53 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) is added sodium hydride (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 31.5 mg, 0.79 mmol) under cooling to 0 C. and reaction mixture is stirred for further 30 minutes at r.t. Methyl iodide (36 muL, 0.58 mmol) is added and the reaction mixture is stirred for 40 minutes at r.t. The reaction mixture is diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer is washed with water and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to provide R9. Yield 98%.To R8, purchased from ACTIVATE (150 mg, 0.39 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL) is added trifluoroacetic acid (0.5 mL) and reaction mixture is stirred for 45 minutes at r.t. The reaction mixture is concentrated. Yield 100%.
