4-Bromothiazole Use and Manufacturing

a) Ethanol (30 mL) and a solution of sodium carbonate (8.85 g, 83.5 mmol) in water (33 mL) were added to a mixture of fe/f-butyl 4-[3-(4, 4, 5, 5-tetramethyl-1 , 3, 2- dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridin-2-yl]piperazine-1 -carboxylate (13.0 g, 33.4 mmol) and 4- bromo-1 , 3-thiazole (6.57 g, 40.1 mmol) in toluene (180 mL). Tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (2.69 g, 2.33 mmol) was then added, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 12 hours at 90 C. After removal of solvents in vacuo, the residue was purified using silica gel chromatography (Gradient: 0% to 60% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to afford the product as a light yellow solid.
