3-Chloro-4-methylphenylisocyanate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

3-Chloro-4-methylaniline is obtained by phosgenation. Dissolve 3-chloro-4-methylaniline in toluene (or chlorobenzene) so that the concentration of 3-chloro-4-methylaniline in the solvent is 150-170g/L. Below 0°C, pour phosgene into the solution. The amount of phosgene is about 2.5 times (molar ratio) of amine. Then slowly increase the temperature to 70-80°C and react for 1-2h. Then continue to heat up to 100-105°C for purging to obtain a 3-chloro-4-toluene isocyanate solution.

Uses

Pesticide intermediates.
