Step 8 Submit CorrectionsClose125(155 g, 1.23 mol) was added dropwise with stirring at room temperature with stirring. The reaction was continued for 1 h, and NH3H2 was added to the reaction mixture. O was adjusted to pH 8. The resulting mixture was extracted with CH2Cl2 and the extract was washed with water, then with brine, and finally dried over anhydrous MgSO4. The dried extract was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give 139 g of a pale yellow oil. The crude oil was dried in vacuo overnight to give 135 g (yield 95percent) of compound III;
