Description

pale yellow solid; has lower chloride and sulfate content than other chromate pigments; prepared by reacting K2Cr2O7 and BaCO3 at 500°C; used in paints to protect Fe and steel from corrosion and to form strong and elastic paint films [HAW93] [KIR78]
