Dimethyl succinylsuccinate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Ester 1, 10 g (0.06 mol), was added with stirring to a mixture of 17 g (0.12 mol) of potassium carbonate and 50 mL of DMSO, and the mixture was stirred for 3 h at room temperature and for 10 h at 60 °C. The mixture was cooled, diluted with water, and filtered, and the filtrate was extracted with diethyl ether. The extract was dried over MgSOIn a 1 L three-necked flask equipped with an electrically heated magnetic stirrer, a thermocouple, a constant pressure dropping funnel, and a condenser Pressure distillation unit). In a three-necked flask, 600g of dimethyl succinate DMS (4mol), nitrogen (moisture and oxygen removed) Under the care of warming to 100 . Afterwards, 180g of 30percent sodium methylate solution (1mol) was slowly added dropwise with a constant pressure dropping funnel, and the dropping time was about 4h. After the dropping was completed, the reaction was continued for about 2h.
