2,3-Dimethylanthraquinone Use and Manufacturing
Heat 1, 4-naphthoquinone, dimethylbutadiene and ethanol and reflux for 5h. Cool and place for 10-12h. The lumps were crushed, filtered, and washed with cold ethanol to obtain tetrahydrodimethylanthraquinone (melting point 147-149°C). It will be mixed with potassium hydroxide ethanol solution and ventilated for 24h, the reaction will exothermic. Then it is filtered with suction, washed with water, ethanol, ether, and dried to obtain 2, 3-dimethylanthraquinone.
