Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained by reduction of sodium nitroorotate. There are two production methods for sodium nitroorotate, using thiourea and urea as starting materials. Starting from thiourea, through cyclization, nitrification, and oxidation, sodium nitroorotate is obtained; from urea, through condensation, cyclization, nitrification, and oxidation, sodium nitroorotate is obtained; Reduction is to obtain amino orotic acid.

Uses

Can be used as pharmaceutical intermediates.
