Benzalkonium Chloride Use and Manufacturing

This product can be used as a disinfectant and a disinfectant for medical surgical instruments. It dissociates into cationic active groups in the aqueous solution, which has clean detergent, emulsification and solubilization. It can be used as a leveling agent for cationic dyes, as a sterilization and algaecide for industrial water, as a disinfectant and antifungal agent for cash crops such as livestock sheds, grain warehouses, silkworm houses, mushrooms, and white fungus.

Drug Function and Efficacy

Broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that disrupts microbial cell membranes through its cationic properties, leading to cell death. Effective against Gram-positive bacteria, some Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and enveloped viruses. Used for skin disinfection, mucosal antisepsis, wound irrigation, and as a preservative in ophthalmic and nasal formulations. It is not effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, tubercle bacilli, or bacterial spores.
