Description

Petitgrain oil Paraguay is obtained from an acclimatized variety of the bitter orange tree, C. aurantium L., which is grown in Paraguay. It is pale yellow liquid with a characteristic, strong, pleasant odor, reminiscent of linalool and linalyl acetate.

Petitgrain oil Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained from the branches and leaves of Citrus aurantium var. amara (Citrus aurantium var. amara) by steam distillation. The yield is 1% to 2.6%.

Uses

GB 2760-96 stipulates the allowable food flavors. It is mainly used to prepare apricot, peach, pear, apple, banana, pineapple, wine, hop, ginger and honey flavors.
