Methods of Manufacturing

To a stirred solution of cyanuric chloride (2.16 g, 11.69 mmol)in anhydrous dichloromethane (10 mL) ammonium hydroxide(1 equiv) was added dropwise. The residue was purified with flashchromatography (ethyl acetate/dichloromethane 8:2) to affordcompound 18(I) a 99percent yield.2, 4, 6-Trichloro- 1 , 3, 5-triazine (XVIII) (10.0 g, 55 mmol) was dissolved in acetone (80 mL) and poured into ice-water (80 mL) to form a very fine suspension.To this mixture, 1 N ammonium hydroxide solution (108 mL, 109.4 mmol) was added at 0°C. The reaction was stirred for 30 min at ambient temperature and for additional60 min at 25 °C. The precipitate was filtered off, washed with water (3 x 25 mL).
