Description

pentagastrin is a synthetic polypeptide that has effects like gastrin when given parenterally，which can cause the secretion and synthesis of salivary proteins.[1]In vivo: WIN55, 212-2, which is a non-selective cannabinoid agonist decreased gastric acid secretion stimulated by pentagastrin (10 mg/kg, i.v.) in anaesthetized rats.[2]The effect of curcumin administered i.g. in a dose of 50 mg/kg on the pentagastrin (250 ?g/kg)-stimulated gastric acid output in rats with chronic gastric fistu

Drug Function and Efficacy

It promotes the secretion of gastric acid, pepsin and intrinsic factor. Its effect of promoting gastric acid secretion is equivalent to 1/4 of endogenous gastrin, but stronger than histamine phosphate and betazole hydrochloride. The effect can last for 10 to 40 minutes.
